The University of Southern California (USC) Trojans have secured a commitment from Bahamian wide receiver Prince Strachan for the 2025-2026 college football season. Strachan, who played with the Boise State University Broncos last season, entered the transfer portal a little over a week ago. It didn’t take him long to find a suitor.
Strachan chose USC over programs like the University of Miami and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He has officially signed with the Trojans.
Strachan, standing at 6’5” and weighing 211 pounds, brings a significant presence to the USC offense. During his time at Boise State, he recorded 37 receptions, totaling 578 receiving yards and he had five touchdowns. His average of 15.4 yards per reception highlights his ability to make impactful plays downfield.
The addition of Strachan comes at a crucial time for USC, as the team recently faced departures of several key wide receivers. Duce Robinson has committed to the Florida State University (FSU) Seminoles, Zachariah Branch is going to play for the University of Georgia Bulldogs, and Kyron Hudson will join the Pennsylvania State University Nittany Lions. With these losses, the Trojans needed to find a reliable target, and Strachan fits the bill.
Strachan’s performance in the College Football Playoff against Penn State showcased his potential. He made four receptions for 40 yards in that game, demonstrating his ability to perform in high-pressure situations. Many observers believe he was underutilized at Boise State, suggesting that he could thrive in USC’s pass-heavy offensive scheme under Head Coach Lincoln Riley.
Riley and his staff have worked diligently to enhance the roster through the transfer portal, aiming to maintain a competitive edge in college football. Strachan’s commitment is a testament to their efforts and he is a welcomed addition to the team.
With two years of eligibility remaining, Strachan could make a significant impact at USC. His size and skills will provide a valuable option for the Trojans as they look to build on their offensive strategy for the upcoming season. The Trojans will rely heavily on returning players like Ja’Kobi Lane and Makai Lemon, but the addition of Strachan adds depth and experience to a key position.
As USC prepares for next season, the integration of Strachan into the offense will be crucial. His ability to stretch the field and create mismatches against opposing defenses will be closely monitored. Strachan’s commitment marks a positive step for the Trojans as they continue to assemble a talented roster aimed at competing at the highest level of college football.
