Tennis player Simone Pratt in action in this file photo. The Bahamas Lawn Tennis Association (BLTA) has laid out its calendar of events for 2025. The Giorgio Baldacci Open National Championships will wrap up the year, set for December 19-21 at the BLTA’s National Tennis Centre on New Providence.

The official 2025 Bahamas Lawn Tennis Association’s (BLTA) calendar of activities has been released and it features events from the junior level to the senior level on the islands of Abaco, Eleuthera, Grand Bahama and New Providence.

Up first will be the BLTA Under-14 (U14) and Under-16 (U16) Tournament from January 24-26 at the BLTA’s National Tennis Centre. Following that event, the International Club (IC) Winterbotham Junior Tournament (10-and-Under — 10U and 12-and-Under — 12U) will take place. That will be held February 1-2. From February 7-10, will be the Bahama Pure Water & Ice Junior Tournament on Grand Bahama. The Valentine’s Doubles Classic will be held by the Gym Tennis Club in New Providence from February 6-15. Finally in February, from the 21st to March 1, will be the Junior Billie Jean King Cup/Junior Davis Cup international events.

The Eye of the Tiger Doubles Tennis Tournament will be held March 1-2 on Eleuthera. Internationally, the World Juniors for Boys and Girls (14-and-Under — 14U) will take place from March 1-9. Finally in March, the BLTA Junior Spring Classic will be held from the 21st to the 25th on New Providence. The only event in April will be the BD Global Junior Classic (12U and 14U) on Abaco.

The Tim’s Refrigeration Doubles Tournament will be held on Eleuthera from May 3-4. Also in May, the Sheri Roberts Memorial Junior Nationals will be held on Abaco from the 16th to the 18th. The BLTA Junior Nationals (8-and-Under — 8U and 10U) is scheduled for June 14-15 on New Providence. The 12U to 18-and-Under (18U) junior nationals will follow that event from June 20-25 on New Providence. The International Tennis Federation’s (ITF) Junkanoo Bowl (qualifying and main draw for 18U) will be held June 28 – July 5 at the BLTA’s National Tennis Centre on New Providence.

From July 7-18, the 25th Annual All Eleuthera Your Summer Tennis Camp will take place. The South Eleuthera Tennis Camp will take place from July 14-26. Also in July, there will be an Under-12 (U12) Team Competition SR3 from the 17th to the 22nd. In August, there will be the AID Clay Court Championships hosted by the Gym Tennis Club on New Providence from the 11th to the 25th.

There will be the Flawless Construction and Legacy Styles Junior Tennis Tournament (U14 and U16) from September 13-14. The Abaco Doubles Open (Men, Women and Mixed) is set for October 11-12. The BLTA Senior Nationals (35-and-Over) will be held October 18-19 on New Providence. Finally in October, the FOCOL Junior Tournament will be held from the 25th to the 28th on Grand Bahama.

The COTECC (Confederation of Tennis of Central America and the Caribbean) Goombay Splash Tournament (qualifying and main draw for 14U) will take place from November 15-20 at the BLTA’s National Tennis Centre on New Providence. Following that, the ITF Goombay Splash Tournament (qualifying and main draw for 18U) will take place. That event will be held from November 22-29. Finally in December, the BLTA Awards Banquet and the Giorgio Baldacci Open National Championships are planned. The awards banquet is set for December 13 and the Giorgio Baldacci nationals is scheduled for December 19-21 at the BLTA’s National Tennis Centre on New Providence.

All of the dates are subject to change.

The BLTA is one of the few sporting federations in the country that stages its national championships in December.
