Bahamian sophomore wide receiver with the Boise State University Broncos Prince Strachan has entered the transfer portal, as confirmed by multiple reports.

Standing at 6’5” and weighing 211 pounds, Strachan has been a key player for Boise State, serving as their number three wide receiver throughout the 2024 season.

Strachan concluded his sophomore year with 25 receptions, amassing 304 yards and scoring one touchdown. His performance in the Fiesta Bowl was notable, where he caught four passes totalling 40 yards in Boise State’s 31-14 loss to Penn State in the College Football Playoff quarterfinals. Strachan reeled in a 20-yard pass late in the third quarter, but it was negated due to a hands-to-the-face penalty.

Strachan’s entry into the transfer portal makes him the 12th Boise State player, and the first starter, to do so during the winter transfer cycle this period. He retains two years of eligibility. Strachan’s football journey began when he moved to the United States in 2019, playing for John Carroll High School in Fort Pierce, Florida. During his freshman year at Boise State, he recorded 12 receptions for 274 yards and two touchdowns.

Boise State’s offense should remain strong as they are set to return several key players. Quarterback Maddux Madsen, tight end Matt Lauter, and wide receivers Cam Camper and Latrell Caples are set to return to the team. Meanwhile, Heisman Trophy runner-up Ashton Jeanty is preparing for his journey in the National Football League (NFL).

Strachan’s decision to enter the transfer portal opens up new opportunities for him, while Boise State will adjust their strategy to maintain a competitive edge. The Broncos aim to build on their existing talent and adapt to changes as they prepare for the upcoming season.
