The college football bowl game featuring the University at Buffalo Bulls and the Liberty University Flames is set for this Saturday, starting at 11 a.m., at Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium in Nassau, The Bahamas.

This will mark the first time the bowl game will be played in January. Fans can watch it live on ESPN2 or stream it via ESPN+.

This year’s Bahamas Bowl features the Buffalo Bulls with an 8-4 win/loss record and Liberty with an 8-3 record. This matchup mirrors the 2017 bowl game that also featured two teams with eight or more wins, showcasing the competitive level of the event.

Director General of the Ministry of Tourism, Investments & Aviation Latia Duncombe said: “Hosting the Bahamas Bowl underscores our position as a premier destination for world-class sporting events. With attendees enjoying the excitement on the ground and millions tuning in on ESPN, this event showcases The Bahamas’ stunning beauty and exceptional hospitality to a global audience, leaving lasting impressions both on and off the field.”

Buffalo, representing the Mid-American Conference (MAC), achieved eight wins for the first time since 2019, finishing tied for third in the conference with a 6-2 record. Head Coach Pete Lembo made history by becoming the first Bulls head coach to win eight games in his debut season. Buffalo last appeared in the Bahamas Bowl in 2019, securing a 31-9 victory over the University of North Carolina at Charlotte 49ers.

Liberty, representing Conference USA, is participating in its sixth consecutive bowl game. The Flames have reached the postseason every year since joining the Football Bowl Subdivision in 2019. Under Head Coach Jamey Chadwell, Liberty holds a 21-4 record over two seasons, and Chadwell has a 52-10 record as a head coach since 2020. This marks Liberty’s first trip to The Bahamas for the bowl game.

The Bahamas Bowl is part of the ‘Sports in Paradise’ initiative, which aims to establish The Bahamas as a premier sports tourism destination. The initiative seeks to enhance the country’s reputation for hosting world-class sports events and increase international attention to the islands.

The Thomas A. Robinson stadium, where the game will be held, underwent renovations last year and is still receiving final touches.

The Bahamas Bowl is one of 17 bowl games owned and operated by ESPN Events. Both teams are poised for a competitive showdown, promising an exciting game for college football fans.

Entry is free of charge.
